About Rebecca L. Ray, Ph.D.

Dr. Rebecca Ray is a seasoned professional with more than twenty years of academic, corporate and consulting experience and a track record of success and recognition for excellence and innovation in talent management. She was named “Chief Learning Officer of the Year” by Chief Learning Officer magazine as well as named to the first-ever list of “Top 100 People in Leadership Development” by Warren Bennis’ Leadership Excellence magazine. The excellence of the MasterCard team was recognized with the “Best Overall Corporate University” Award from the Corporate University Xchange. She was named the first-ever “CLO in Residence” by Corporate University Xchange for 2010.

Rebecca has held senior leadership positions at MasterCard Worldwide, Comcast Cable Communications, American Skandia, Prudential Securities and Merrill Lynch. Prior to her corporate experience, Rebecca led a consulting practice which offered leadership assessment and development programs to Fortune 500 companies. Her areas of expertise include assessment and selection, employee training and development/corporate universities, management and leadership development, diversity, executive coaching and mentoring, executive education, organizational development, employee engagement, performance management and succession management.

Rebecca and her various teams have been honored with “Learning In Practice Awards” from Chief Learning Officer magazine, Corporate University Xchange’s awards for “Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning”, International Quality & Productivity Center’s “Best in Class” (CUBIC) awards, as well as selection to Leadership Excellence magazine’s list of “Top Leadership Development Programs” for the “Leadership Excellence” program for senior executives. Her various teams were named to Training magazine’s elite global list, the Top 100/125, six separate times. Her approach to leadership development and the use of competencies at the executive level formed the basis of a case study response in the Harvard Business Review. Accomplishments have also been profiled in Chief Executive Officer, CIO, FORTUNE, BusinessWeek, Human Resources, The Financial Times, Workforce Management, Training, Training & Development and Chief Learning Officer magazines.

Rebecca serves on the Editorial Advisory Boards for Training and Chief Learning Officer magazines and on the Advisory Board for the University of Pennsylvania’s Executive Program in Work-Based Learning Leadership. The author of two textbooks and several plays, she holds a doctorate from New York University where she taught as an adjunct professor for many years.
