Award Winning Learning Practices with The Schwan Food Company

Award winning Schwan's University's Alex Stiber, Senior Director of Organizational Development and Leadership, and Craig Crossley, Metrics Consultant, will provide an overview of the tools and techniques used to align business strategy with talent management, leadership development, and succession planning corporate-wide. They will also discuss their vision for the evolution of the talent management and its connection to performance management, individual development, and the implications of this new approach to culture change.

Presenters:

Craig Crossley, Ph.D.:
Craig is a Metrics Consultant at Schwan’s University, in Marshall, MN. Prior to this appointment, Craig worked at The Gallup Leadership Institute in Nebraska, where he directed the assessment and evaluation of leadership development programs for organizations such as the National Institute of Corrections, and Veterans Administration Hospital. He has also conducted marketing and management research and consulting for public and private companies. Craig has served on the faculty in the College of Business at the University of Nebraska, and as a guest speaker at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. His research has been presented at international conferences and published in journals such as Human Relations, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of Vocational Behavior. Craig is the Chair of Leadership Development for the Academy of Management’s Practice Theme Committee.
Alex Stiber:

Alex is Senior Director of Organizational Development and Leadership at Schwan’s University, in Marshall, MN, a position he assumed in 2007. Over the course of a 20 year career in the field of organizational and leadership development, Alex has worked at DDI in Pittsburgh, where he led the development of online assessment technology and consulted in the areas of teams and culture change; at Lominger International in Minneapolis, where he wrote books and served as a member of the company’s management team; and consulted extensively with GE Appliances, in Louisville, and many other companies in the areas of business process change, leadership development and workforce development. Co-author of the book Lost and Found: The Story of How One Man Discovered the Secrets of Leadership Where He Wasn’t Even Looking (Crown Business, 2004), and Broadband Talent Management: Paths to Improvement (Lominger, 2005), he has also been a keynote speaker at national conferences, a guest lecturer on organizational culture in the graduate management program at Carnegie Mellon University, and a faculty member of the Duquesne University School of Leadership and Professional Advancement.
