The number of corporate universities around the globe continues to increase rapidly. But beyond sheer numbers, the significance of corporate universities lies in the ways that organizations are using their corporate universities strategically to help develop people and expand organizational capabilities. As corporations increasingly rely on their corporate universities as strategic tools, they have discovered innovative ways to move the organization forward. This presentation, based on consultant and author Mark Allen’s new book of the same name, provides a window into some of the most innovative corporate universities and their inventive approaches.

Presenters:
Mark is an educator, speaker, consultant, and author who currently serves as a practitioner faculty member in the department of organization theory and management at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. He is also a Senior Associate with the Kiely Group. An internationally-recognized authority, he is a popular speaker and has published and presented research on corporate universities and non-traditional higher education. He is the editor and co-author of The Next Generation of Corporate Universities, published by Pfeiffer in February of 2007 and The Corporate University Handbook published by Amacom Books in 2002. Mark serves on the Board of Regents of the University of Farmers at Farmers Insurance Company and on the Board of Advisors of the Global Council of Corporate Universities. He has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia University, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and a Ph.D. in Education from USC.
