Shell, a leading global oil and gas company, continue focusing on Leadership Development as one of the key levers to sustain and improve Shell’s business performance in a fiercely competitive energy market. Senior executives must develop critical capabilities to foresee the industry’s evolution and leverage technology, partnerships and new energy supplies, to secure Shell’s future position as a marketplace leader. Shell has recently enhanced its Executive Leadership Program driving extraordinary business outcomes as well as behavioural change on focused areas.

This session will include:

  • Integrated "Assessment" and "Development" Program phases helping executives with high potential to successfully transition to top executive roles
  • Experiential learning activities that build leaders' presence and inspiration through self awareness and authenticity

Paddy Coyne:

Paddy rejoined Shell at the end of 2006 as Head of our Global Leadership Development Practice, after a 13 year ‘sabbatical’ at McKinsey & Company where he was part of the Firm’s Organization Practice leadership group, with a focus on building organizations’ leadership and performance culture. Paddy established the McKinsey Leadership Institute Asia Pacific, supporting the Firm’s clients across the region. He was also jointly responsible for the global leadership development programs for McKinsey’s Partner group. Paddy’s first stint at Shell spanned 1984 to ’92, when he worked as a project engineer with Shell EP in NL, UK and Oman.

Paddy graduated with first-class honors in Engineering and Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin, and completed an MBA at INSEAD in France.

Beyond his professional interests, Paddy is passionate about many things: his partner Liz and their one year old daughter Rhiannon, his extended family and friends, mountaineering and sailing – he shares a one-design racing boat with friends.
