Corporate University Xchange Forms Executive Council on Globalization
Multinational companies examine strategies for effective learning
(New York, NY) - Corporate University Xchange (CUX), the leading provider of corporate education research, benchmarking and advisory services for the enterprise-learning marketplace, formed a new Executive Council on Globalization (ECG) to discuss the challenges of disseminating learning throughout the world. The Executive Council brings together global learning leaders from GM, Pfizer, Marsh, Wyeth, EADS, Deloitte, UBS, Rolls Royce and Intel, all corporations with large populations of employees dispersed around the globe.
"The corporate universities in these large, multinational companies have to integrate their learning efforts with the business strategies of their parent organizations," said Mark Allen, President and CEO of CUX. "The ECG will create a network of companies that can share best practices about how that's done in a global context."
ECG members will have access to focused research in strategic areas like change management across cultures, global productivity improvement, and measuring and forecasting global learning needs. Tactical issues such as language and technology, that also create barriers to learning, will also be part of the ongoing discussions.
Although each company has its own business goals, the issues facing global learning organizations are similar. "We all share similar challenges - identifying training and development needs and providing them throughout the world," noted Julie Ellis, Director, Global Leadership Education and Development, who attended the meeting. "The opportunity to collaborate and share insights should prove valuable to all of us."
This inaugural meeting, which was held in conjunction with a Corporate University Xchange Forum, hosted by the American Management Association in Manhattan, will be followed by targeted research and the creation of solutions that address global learning challenges. ECG membership is limited to 12 organizations.
