Established in 1968, The Asian Institute of Management is a graduate school of business and a center of business and management research. The school was established in partnership with Harvard Business School and uses the Harvard Business School case study teaching methodology. The Asian Institute of Management executive education first launched its general management programs in the 1970s and these signaled the birth of a host of other programs categorized as: Degree Program, Non-Degree or Certificate Programs, and In-House or Customized Programs. In-House or Customized Programs One of EXCELL’s strategies is to forge strategic alliances and corporate partnerships. It is in these tie-ups that companies get to participate in the design and development of the programs. These tie-ups result in the customized programs of EXCELL. Companies take part in the selection of managers they send to the program, and use this to determine as well what skills and competencies need to be developed and therefore be considered in program design.
