As clients moved, the company began conducting operations overseas in the late 1970s. By 1982 Forum had grown to a size of 170 employees and 40 part-time instructors. It was ranked 362 on the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing private companies in America. By 1996 Forum had 500 employees worldwide with established offices in Boston, Hong Kong, London, and Toronto, and revenue of US$65 million. By 1997, Forum supplied a significant portion of training for six American companies and operated the entire training divisions of six others.
Forum was acquired by Pearson for $90 million. Subsequently, it was resold to the Institute of International Research in January 2003 for $30 million. IIR became a part of the British publisher and conference company, Informa. Forum is currently a subsidiary of Informa.
