Mike Barger, Ed.D is the Chief Strategy Activation Officer and Faculty Member for CorpU, joining the leadership team in 2010. Prior to CorpU, Mike was a founding member of JetBlue Airways in 1999. He created and led JetBlue University, the award-winning corporate learning function that provides learning and development to all JetBlue crew members. During his time at JetBlue, Mike also served as the senior leader responsible for all Flight and Maintenance Operations and he led the Talent Management team. In 2006, while serving as JetBlue Chief Learning Officer, Mike helped create a doctoral program in Workplace Learning Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as an Advisory Board member, Faculty member, and program participant.
In 1986, Mike received his commission as an Officer in the United States Navy and served three deployments as a strike/fighter pilot and flight instructor flying the F/A-18 Hornet aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt and USS Dwight David Eisenhower. While in the Navy, Mike spent his entire career in pilot education highlighted by a tour as an Instructor and Chief Instructor at the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN).
Mike has a Doctor of Education degree and Master’s Degree in Learning Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan.
