Leadership: The First Person You Must Lead Is You

Created in partnership with: Becky Halstead

For over two centuries, the United States Military Academy at West Point has created leaders who have shaped our nation and the world. West Point graduates lead in the military, government, politics, and in some of the most successful global companies. One of these leaders, and the principal faculty for this course, is Brigadier General (Retired) Rebecca “Becky” Halstead, the first woman graduate of West Point to be promoted to General Officer. She has amassed thirty plus years of experience leading large organizations in dynamic and challenging environments.

Over three modules, Brigadier General Halstead will share personal leadership lessons that served as the cornerstones of her extraordinarily successful military, and now civilian, career.

Based on her new book 24/7: The First Person You Must Lead is You, this course teaches the importance of leading yourself first, as only then will one truly be able to become an authentic leader in the eyes of others. Participants will experience a number of practical exercises to build a strong foundation of personal values, principles, and purpose to become a better, more effective, and more impactful leader of self first, then the leader of others.
