Leadership and Purpose

This course asks you to consider the impact of a clearly defined personal purpose on your ability to lead. Leaders of all levels and styles should question their role at work, and thoughtfully consider how it compares to their mission in life. Dr. Quin encourages participants to find and articulate our own highest purpose and then, once discovered, help others to do the same. Daily topics include:

  1. Clarification of purpose turns a job into a calling
  2. Clarification of purpose will turn a manager into a leader
  3. Contributive goals are more powerful than ego goals
  4. Contributive goals increase our capacity to perform
  5. Clarification of purpose integrates our life

This one-week sprint is part of a 20-week series theĀ 100-Day Leader’s Journey designed to help you develop the leadership skills already inside you, by regularly dedicating about ten minutes of your valuable time each day to taking charge of your own leadership development. You will be challenged to not only think about what it means to become a more effective leader, but you will be asked to take what you learn every day, put it into practice (or, at least try an experiment or two), and share the results and impact of your actions with the colleagues taking this journey with you.
